☽ New Moon in Capricorn  ♑
When I was young I used to love watching my Dad in his shed repairing old furniture, sanding it down to the natural grain and then building the paint back up again until the piece almost sung. It brought him such calm, these hours spent breathing fresh life into something others had discarded. My father has Capricorn ascendant. 
There's something about this sign, more than any other, that gives reverence to the things that take time, the things that give you that sense of deep pride and accomplishment that no flash in the pan could ever hold a candle to. It is, after all, ruled by old man time himself, Saturn. It flies in the face of a world built around instant gratification. 
On this Capricorn New Moon, Mercury is retracing its steps, asking us to pare back our ideas to their rawest form. Pluto connects the very next day and brings with it the promise of resurrection, of transforming a part of our lives until it shines. Until all eyes see the gem that was hidden. 
Mars and Neptune provide the steady rhythm and peace that being in the flow give. Where action and Spirit meet. Jupiter and Uranus bring inspiration to sturdy Saturn and provide a glimpse into all that can be had in 2017. And that, my lovelies, can be a plenty. 
In Japan there is an art form called Kintsugi. It repairs broken objects, most often with gold. It doesn't try to hide the repair, but instead adds to the history of the object. It adds value. 
Remember that, on this New Moon, when the flaws and cracks of the past can be reborn into something of exquisite beauty given enough patience, love and a gentle hand.
