new moon in aries 9 degrees

Whoo hoo. Here we are kids. The New Moon in Aries. Its like an astro reboot for the entire year. Aries being the first sign n all and New Moons heralding fresh beginnings. Personally I love this moon because there is so much energy, just itching to ignite. It’s a fire moon baby and fire is qi, prana, life force.
Venus, the love planet, joins the Sun and Moon in this sign of bravado, trail blazing and chivalry. She’s having a quiet retrograde moment to herself, contemplating what her heart holds dear, retracing her steps. In this sign Venus is more about what her needs are. The self can come first. Any epiphanies now may fall into place later in April when she moves forwards again. Questions asked need honesty. And accountability.
So it got me thinking. What can be more brave than loving yourself? I’m not talking about the narcissistic, duck face, follow me kind that is rife nowadays. Eek. I mean, really being at home in your own skin. And that got me thinking about Ho’oponopono.
Ho what? Ho’oponopono is the ancient Hawaiian practice of forgiveness. It is a remarkably simple and incredibly powerful technique who’s literal translation is to "make right, put in order or to make clean.” A perfect way to start the year I’d say. It helps us bring to light the errors of our ways, rectify the past and change our world from the inside out.
It’s mantra? I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you. It doesn’t need to be to anyone in particular, just put the words out there to Spirit. A great start is by thinking of something thats troubling you. You can also use it for much larger issues, for instance, the global state of affairs. Suspiciously simple you ask? Here’s an example.
Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len worked at the Hawaii State Hospital in a ward for the criminally insane. He would review the patients files and whilst doing so would work on himself by repeating the above mantra. Slowly but surely the patients started to heal. The kicker is, he never even met one of them. By taking personal responsibility for what went on in his world, his world started to change all around him. It really struck home that if you want to improve anything in your life, look to yourself first and foremost. And with 5 planets in Aries, the sign of the self, there is no better time to start than now.
Piffle I hear you say. What if I’m not sorry? How can I be responsible for everything? I refuse to ask for forgiveness because I didn’t do anything! I know, hard right? Really hard. Do it anyway. Pass it straight to the light and do it from a place of love. It won’t stop things from happening, but it will change how you respond to them. How empowering. This isn’t a quick fix it for when when life kicks you in the face. It’ll take conscious daily practice to start to see results. And no, this isn’t as glib as “just thinking positively” and waving a magic wand.
It’s about acknowledging that we are all connected, that what affects your life, also affects mine. Obviously there is so much more to this practice than this wee post can cover but its something I’m choosing to embrace now. Because, if we can’t embrace ourselves, fully, in our entirety, then how in the heck can we embrace each other? And that my friends, is precisely what this world needs. Peace.

Full Moon in Virgo 22 degrees

Often whilst scrolling through my social media feed, I'm struck as to how much work goes into creating an effortless, carefree image. The grand illusion of perfection. Sometimes the pic looks a bit like pretty indigestion to me but hell, to each their own.
Bodies contorted into so called casual pics. The forced smile. The manipulation of the observer. I wonder how many snapshots get discarded in the search of the "perfect" picture, some maybe with genuine smiles and how bloody exhausting it all must be. Don't get me wrong. We all do it, to a lesser or greater degree. It's fun until it's not and for some it's become an art form.
Enter our full Moon for the month of March in grounded Virgo. This sign rules precision and a sense of duty. It's got standards, godammit and takes pride in what is functional, squeaky clean and unadorned. Sitting in the opposite point of the sky is the Sun in Pisces who wants to transcend all those pesky details and filter out the harshness and mundaneness of everyday life. Hmmmm. Reality vs fantasy.
The ruler of this moon, Mercury, squares off to honest Saturn who rips the filter away and gets us to acknowledge where we trip ourselves up in the pursuit of happiness. The Mirage. This planet, along with the help of Mars urges you to get into day to day habits that are actually good for you, not just give the perception of it. Health and wellbeing are paramount. Chiron whispers to us to tend to our wounds and vulnerabilities of being seen fully.
This is a fabulous time to explore new ways of self care and lifting our expectations of what we want for ourselves. You're not here to only serve others and live an empty story. You're here to write your own. It's time to get real, get organised and get happy. Smile until your eyes crinkle my lovelies.

New Moon in pisces 9 degrees

I’ve always loved cemeteries. I find them utterly fascinating. As a medium, I’m given a different perspective on places such as these and often get flashes of lives lived and loves lost whilst strolling through.

There’s a little cemetery close to where we live and a children’s park right next to it. Hearing the kid’s laughter, I’m often reminded of that song from the Lion King “ The Circle of Life”. We have the ending and the beginning all in one place. It urges me to make the most of the time we are given and to cherish life’s precious moments.

I was thinking of this today as I walked my little ones back home and pondering on the upcoming eclipse in Pisces. Just before we came to the road, I heard a voice - psychically - say “ Turn around”. And I did. It said “look”. I looked around. Where, I asked? “There”. I was pulled towards a really unusual tombstone. One I’d never seen, and I’ve been to this place umpteen times. I stood before it and read the moving inscription. Touching the markings etched into the stone, I saw there was a bowl shape in the top which allowed it to catch water, becoming a little bird bath and drinking spot. Gorgeous! Standing back, it then hit me. The tombstone had a carving of the symbol for Pisces, which the lady who’s life it celebrated, was. Well knock me down with a feather. There are no coincidences.

Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac and signifies the ending of the astrological year. It is soulful and spiritual. New Moon’s are a new dawn, unshackling you from whatever has been holding you back. This Moon is the final chapter in a story that began way back in March 2015. One door closing so another can open. See the theme here? Solar eclipses bring forth incredible flashes of inspiration. So much so that we can feel like we just stepped off the whirly gig. The ripples are felt through every area of our life. Balance is key. This energy is amped by the meeting of Mars and Uranus which in turn bounces off Jupiter. Core blimey, hold onto your hats lovelies! If you’re after change, then this will give it to you in spades. Ready or not here I come!

The thing that I love about the aforementioned tombstone is that even though this lady has passed, life is still being sustained by her memory. Pisces is all about giving yourself over to something much greater than you. In its purest form it is timeless and without ego. There is genius in the air at the moment, giving us all the chance to use our energy in rare and unusual ways to help ourselves, each other and the planet. Think about how you would like to be remembered. What would your inscription be? There is a legacy in the making and it begins now. May the force be with you. ⚡️

Full Moon in Leo 23 degrees

Picture

I love watching children at play. The way they throw their little bodies into their worlds heart open, arms wide and with pure joy at even the littlest of things. The tremendous sense of discovery that even the most reticent, shy ones embrace. The giggles and those hugs. Oh my word, those hugs. Pure love and affection. I often wonder what happens to us, between childhood and adulthood and lament at the watering down or in some cases, complete loss of just being able to be in the here and now. Fully. No if’s or but's, no apologies.
Full Moon Lunar Eclipses are traditionally a period of closure, endings and shutting down. This one, in the sign of Leo, may bring up that part of your spirit that has been forced to tow the line, be an adult and abandon your childlike enthusiasm for matters of the head. Leo rules the heart, you see. And a full Moon in Leo is bursting at the seams in terms of emotions. Don’t you dare try nudging this Moon in the corner. Leo hates to be ignored.
The eclipse tango's with bountiful Jupiter and electric Uranus providing a sweet celestial heart starter. This is a megawatt, power packed combo if ever there was one and will provide a totally different perspective on what needs to be swept out of your life. Not only that but it will hand you the freakin broom to do so. Seeds planted now should see growth by August.
This is the perfect time to embrace your inner child, the one that got pushed further and further to the side after the transition to the “real” world. Bring them front and centre. Shine the light of the Full Moon upon them. Celebrate them by standing on your head, having a boogie, painting, singing, giving someone you adore a big sloppy kiss. The whole "dance like no one is watching" shebang. And the voice that says “oh no, I couldn’t possibly”?
That crap has just gotta go.

From the most Badass Leo I know, the inimitable Mae West ...
“ You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”

Live, my friends, live.
