June skies 2018

 Felt a distinct shift in gears following the exciting and, at times, intense nature of May’s aspects? The beginning of June sees momentum build with some delightful astrological activity. On the 1st of the month we yearn to connect with those of a like mind and our creative juices are on fire. Sensual Venus forms a beautiful angle to highly demonstrative Jupiter and then to soulful Neptune on the second of June. Expect romance, ideals and inspiration to be at the forefront of our imaginations. And a glorious soak in the bath. 


Talkative and easily distracted Gemini is head honcho on the 6th of the month which brings a flurry of communication and sociability but the very same day Venus ( yes her again! ) stares down power loving Pluto. Be careful not to lead anyone astray because things could go very deep, very fast. The following day on the 7th of June the normally happy go lucky Sun becomes ensnared in Neptune’s tendrils, causing confusion, whether intended or not, and lowering our defences. A flirt fest could become a tad messy. Ohh err. Only say it if you mean it folks.

Mercury moves into security loving Cancer on the 12th of the month until June the 29th, turning our minds to feathering our nests and those we consider to be family. Our collective consciousness becomes much more sensitive and potentially parochial. 
“ I understand how you feel " is a good term to remember now. 

The Gemini New Moon on the 13th of June is quite an emotional one, unusual considering this highly intellectual sign usually breaks out in hives at any sign of molly coddling. Reason being? It makes a lovely aspect to gentle Ceres, Goddess of the Harvest, motherhood and family. These two chunks of rock are supremely feminine in nature and there is a real need for closeness, desirability and sensuality. Its not bodice ripping per se but more the nurturing type of physical expression. Venus moves into Glamazon Leo adding to the distinctly sensual vibe. She stays there until July the 9th. 

The aforementioned lush Leo Venus gets a rather rude shock on the 15th of the month sparking bolts from the blue in regards to our love lives, finances and the need to feel valued. Do not issue an ultimatum on this day or you may be given your marching orders. There is a real  “ irresistible force meets an immovable object" energy around now. Communicative Mercury connects with stern Saturn on the 16th of June bringing a serious tone to our thoughts and conversations. 

Think planet Mercury snaps back into shape from the 19th of the month. Optimism and hope return. Ahhhh. The Sun moves into snuggly Cancer on the 21st of June until the 22nd of July and turns our attention to home, comfort and whether our emotional needs are being met. Are they?

The week of the 23rd to the 30th of June is a veritable smorgasbord of Astro activity. It is seriously like a box of chocolates. 

First off the mark is Mercury running headlong into Pluto. That ultimatum thing? Its back. Sidestep folks with agendas and respect issues. 
On the 25th pleasure loving Venus goes O.T.T. with boundless Jupiter. The urge to splurge is real so you’ve been given a heads up.  

Gung ho Mars goes into retreat ( retrograde ) on the 26th of the month until August the 27th. This happens once every two years and can signify simmering tension, passive aggressive behaviour and decreased energy and productivity.This is NOT the time to embark upon brand new ventures, start major work or projects or completely lose your crap at someone. Especially the last one. This is because the energy of Mars, the very one that gives us fire in our belly, passion, anger and competitive strategy, is turned within. Strangely enough, all you may be thinking about are the previously mentioned Mars traits.

We now have a total of five planets in retrograde motion. It is rare and potentially very frustrating. The past may return but just because it taps you on your shoulder doesn't mean you need turn around. You're a very different creature now.  
The best way to utilise this time? Complete unfinished tasks, repair or renovate and review strategies. 

The Sun gets right up Saturn’s nose on the 27th of June and ego vs responsibility materialises. Oh joy.

 Our Full Moon in serious Capricorn on the 28th of the month aligns with duty lover Saturn. This combo is ambitious, forthright and believes in tough love. Family unity and loyalty, discipline and hard work towards a common goal are key words. Don’t expect to be putting up with any whining. 

Mercury moves into proud Leo on the 28th of June all the way until September the 5th. This mix is faithful, ardent and artistic but on the 30th it may become bombastic, self centred and egotistical. The choice is yours. Please remember the advice for Mars retrograde and keep calm and carry on. Howard Haters and Snivelling Sally’s can go back from whence they came. You’ve got work to do.
