 This month there seems to be a lot to get off our chests, mull over and brainstorm. The reason being? Mercury. This little ball of quicksilver is super active and governs all things communication, including writing, your neighbourhood and zee internet. It also rules the signing of contracts and siblings so expect these topics to be hot tamales. A word to the wise... Mercury has many faces so be sure not to become entangled with those who have two of them ie; gossip, malice or out and out bullshit. Never a good look. October is definitely the month to work on your message with truth and integrity. Best hop to it.
Aaaaaand then there is Venus. Blessed star. She’s in a bit of a tangle this month and into the next. Remember all those retrograde planets a few months ago? Always one to make an entrance, Venus is being fashionably late and deciding to retrace her steps from the 6th of October until November 16th. She will progress from the deep and pensive waters of Scorpio back into the egalitarian cool of Libra. This unusual astrological event may bring back memories from October 2010 when she last crossed this part of the sky. The final two weeks in particular are not the best times to get get hot and heavy with someone who’s looky looky - no touchy, extend beyond our means financially, go wild with a new look or let our jealousy get the better of us. Venus retrograde is wonderful, however, for returning something to its former glory, restoring it with love and care and seeing the beauty or value in something that has been discarded. On the 3rd of the month talk planet Mercury has a tête-à-tête with provocative Pluto. Conversations are laden with undercurrents and possible power plays so count to ten before you hit the nuke button if you value the other person. Great for redefining boundaries though. Venus begins her 40 days and 40 nights retreat on October 6th until November the 16th. Take on board that others may be more than a little jangled at this time as she meets up with our planet of change, Uranus, during this transit. Kindness goes a long way now. Ahhh, hug it out. The week of the 9th to the 16th of the month packs a punch. Mars finally leaves its shadow point where it has been crossing since June the 26th of this year, freeing us from the false starts and crossed wires that have plagued us since then. The pace of life picks up. The October New Moon falls in the sign of Libra on the 9th of the month. The ruler of this Moon, Venus, newly retrograde, is in a much more contemplative mood so whatever fresh starts are borne around companionship or the achieving and maintaining of balance and harmony in our lives may take until next month to really anchor. This Moon is square to passionate Pluto and Venus is also days away from locking horns with Mars so be mindful not to get dragged into others drama or forcing your own agenda. Knee jerk reactions are likely around freedom, money, individuality and passion. An all out revolt could be waged if you try and fight the tide of change flowing into your life so ultimatum issuing should be taken with extreme caution. This month has been all about our integrity.  Ahhhhh September. Finally you are here. Truth be told I’ve been looking forward to a reprieve from all the madness of eclipse season. With the majority of planets in earth signs for most of this month expect to see a shift from desire to practicalities. Work and functionality will also appeal. The planet of responsibility and longevity, Saturn, begins to inch forward once again after turning its gaze inward since April. Wisdom gleaned over the past few months in all matters career, productivity and reputation will be implemented now. Head down, tush up. Its time to get to work!
Conversations prove fruitful on September the 3rd if you’re wanting to get your message heard. People are responsive after some patience, humility and a teensy bit of buttering up. Eyelash flutter. Saturn turns direct on the 6th of the month, turning our energies outward once again in the area of achievement, foundations and honouring our word. Reliability may have been hard to come by over the last 5 months with a string of broken promises but expect people to walk their talk more now. Or be expected to do so! Mercury comes home in the sign of Virgo on the very same day highlighting diligence and attention to detail. You may want to care more for your body at this time too. Healthy mind et all. It stays there until September 21. There is a lovely connection between communicative Mercury, revolutionary Uranus and stable Saturn on the 7th of September. Also on this date there is a link between the analytical Virgo Sun and idealistic Neptune. This is a brilliant day for not only brainstorming but coming up with a viable plan in the application of those ideas. Make hay whilst the sun shines. Libra energy ushers in from the 22nd of the month with Mercury and then the following day, the Sun, occupying that part of the sky. Mercury stays until October 9th and the Sun until October the 23rd. Diplomacy and tact are highly valued now as is the subject of relationships. These are not only romantic but also work, familial and social. After an initial run in with serious Saturn things calm down and are supported by some wonderful links to enthusiastic Mars on the 24th and then again on the 27th. The urge to be with those you love and admire will be strong. The monthly Full Moon falls in the famously independent sign of Aries on the 25th of September. This is a restless, passionate and surprisingly vulnerable Moon due to various aspects to Saturn, Mars and Mercury. Any feelings that arise of being unable to ask for what you want, a lack of support or being emotionally isolated are best channelled into doing what you love for all the right reasons, spending quality time alone and active self care. The ruler of this Moon, the aforementioned Mars, meets with the South Node on the 26th of the month, triggering outmoded beliefs to do with masculinity, what we are willing to fight for and where and with whom we place our energies. You may find you walk away from something you’ve fought long and hard for because it is actually better for you in the long term. Those from your past can reappear at this time as well so pop on your best dress or invisible cape depending upon how how feel! Last but by no means least, transformative Pluto moves forward on the 30th of September. This is the classic phoenix rising from the ashes. Since April the 22nd this planet has turned your attention to how you wield your power or who wields theirs over you. You may have had one part of your life completely dominate and now is the time to take stock and step back into the drivers seat.
