November skies...

Theres a changing of the guard this coming month with much of the energy that has been on hold or off kilter for a lot of the year shifting signs or moving in a forwards direction. Praise be. In fact, November may prove to be a hang onto your hats time where you hit the ground running and finally get the green light to move ahead. Pacing yourself is paramount as is knowing exactly in which direction you want to be heading. Those worn out by the trench warfare of the last few months are advised to take stock, get back to basics and begin rebuilding their dreams, one brick at a time. No one can take your dream unless you let them. Don’t let them. 


Bear in mind we are still in the Venus retrograde period which began on October the 6th. In the final two weeks,  from the 3rd until the 16th of November we can see the darker elements of the retrograde come to light. This is because she’s shifting from the more subtle, vulnerable and creative side of Venus into the more obsessive, materialistic and sexual facets of her nature. If you’re tempted to play with fire you’d better some A grade oven mitts. Aaaand probably not the most amazing time to blow the budget. 

The week of the 5th until the 11th of November will open the flood gates of change. On the 6th of the month idealistic Neptune is supported beautifully by the light of the Sun. Spiritual and soulful connections are on offer as is an abundance of creativity and the willingness to give someone a hand up. Not a hand out mind you. 
On the same day wild card Uranus retreats back into trailblazing Aries. When it finally leaves in March of 2019 it won’t be visiting this sign for another 84 years. Whatever you’ve learned over the last 8 years in terms of asserting your individuality, taking calculated risks, authenticity and just flat out not apologising for being you will be given a final review before it moves into practical Taurus to stay for a while. This planet, in this particular fire sign of the Ram, pushes for action, change and is inherently restless. That aforementioned green light just got a shade more green. 

The 6th of November also sees the shifting of the Nodal Axis from the signs of Leo and Aquarius to Cancer and Capricorn where they will stay for approximately 18 months. The nodes you ask? Yes, those mystical points in the sky that reveal innate skills and talents and help us unlock the door to our destiny. The "where are you coming from?" vs "where are you going?". Whats the meaning of life?  Expect those with strong Cancer and Capricorn planets especially to welcome in change. But for all of us the onus is on work life balance, responsibilities toward home and family and our achievements. This is especially so because aforementioned rebel planet Uranus runs headlong into the nodes on the day they shift signs. Goodbye playing by everyone else's rules, hello I did it my way. The Scorpio New Moon on November the 7th is bolstered by the North Node, freshly in Cancer. Auspicious beginnings to do with the way in which we live, our dwellings and how we view emotional support are highlighted. Brilliant. Whats more the Moon is meeting with soulful Neptune enhancing altruism and imagination. This is not the Moon for purely selfish motives but for the “you’re okay, I’m okay approach.” The ruler of this Moon, energetic Mars is in a lovely aspect to loving Venus and motherly Ceres giving the desire for companionship, warmth in connections with others and emotional support. The other ( modern ) Ruler of this Moon, passionate Pluto, forms an encouraging link, bringing depth and focus. Scorpio has the laser beam stare and sees through B.S. in a heartbeat. We all have Scorpio somewhere in our charts so use this energy today. B.S be gone!

On the 8th of the month expansive Jupiter finally comes home in the sign of the Archer, Sagittarius, after 12 long years. It will stay in la casa Saggie until December 2019. What can I say? Here forward thinking and optimistic Jupiter really gets to spread its wings and take flight. Imagine a horse breaking free and running unhindered at full capacity. Awesome image huh? Here our inner truth seeker is unleashed, sometimes quite literally, upon the world. Key themes of travel, exploring, seeking knowledge, faith systems, mentors and simpatico friendships are highlighted. Screw thinking small, give me the juice. Religion, ethics and morals also fall here and we can get on our high horse about certain beliefs. Live and let live I say. Remember that one. Its bound come up more than once over the next year or I’ll eat my hat. 

On the 9th of November Venus snuggles Mars. Even though she is still in retrograde its a sweet connection with a sprinkle of spice. Purr.

The 11th of the month has the radiant Sun meeting powerful Pluto. This is a good time for business meetings and discussing long range objectives. Rejuvenate and replenish. 

Mars is head honcho on the 15th of November. For an inordinately long time this year he has been flitting between stubborn Aquarius and über disciplined Capricorn. Now Pisces steps up to the plate. Until December the 31st this planet of action and drive will be perusing the depths of this sensitive water sign. Listening to your inner voice, intuition, creativity, the need to withdraw, actively seeking peace and the gentle assertion of boundaries will call. Right before it switches signs, Mars will get a spark of inspiration from forward thinking Uranus, urging us to throw off the shackles of the last 8 months. Dive right in baby. 

Venus glides forward once more on the 16th of November. And we all breathe a collective thank feck. Since October the 6th she’s shown us what we and others are made of, sometimes to a painful conclusion, our worth and attitudes towards our lovability. Finances got a look in too. Resolution to late September and early October’s issues is likely, even if it takes until the early stages of December to see more clearly. 

Also on this day intellectual Mercury, gallivanting through the sign of Sagittarius, retreats into retrograde until December the 6th. The usual double checking of facts, reviewing contracts, backing up of our devices etc applies along with a rather large helping of not putting your foot in it. My old Dad has an expression, “ they only open their mouths to change feet.” This goes to the nth degree now. 

Mars and Jupiter get into a turf war on the 20th of the month. Both of these planets are masculine and feisty so find it hard to back down. Spats over values and the “right way” to do something abound. Mars being in Pisces could resort to underhanded tactics but if it takes the high road much can be accomplished today. 

The creative Sun moves into fire sign of Sagittarius on the 22nd of November until December 21. Happy birthday Saggies! Life gets a wee bit more free n easy, fun n breezy. Phew!

The last week of the month has a dizzying array of aspects. Are you ready? Lets go!

The Gemini Full Moon falls on the 23rd of November and brings forth the aforementioned Mars and Jupiter spark. This spark, along with the sensitive and mercurial nature of the Moon could potentially ignite into a war of words, grandiose behaviour and rash decision making. Taking time outs, walking around the block or switching off your phone are ways in which to circumvent some the the erratic energy attached to this lunation. Be mindful that the ruler of this Moon, Mercury, is retrograde, therefore not operating at its strongest. The spilling of secrets and careless handling of the truth is to be avoided. Forewarned is forearmed. 

On the 24th of the month Neptune, which has been in retrograde since June of this year begins to inch forward. All of those lessons about our soul's calling, creativity and now much we are willing to give of ourselves gets put into action. Finding a peaceful corner of the world becomes more important. Just breathe. 

The 26th and the 27th of November are loaded with promise. The light of the Sun shines upon the ever hopeful Jupiter. The next time this aspect will come into play will be in December of next year so take full advantage of this beautiful combination. Dream big and harness opportunities for positive growth in all areas of life from the spiritual to the professional. 

Think planet Mercury squares off to Mars and aligns with the Sun and Jupiter, igniting our collective imaginations but can also inflame the already contentious issues burning from the Full Moon. Lastly, Venus rubs the North Node the wrong way on the 28th of the month and then gets in a bind with disruptive Uranus on the 30th. Any financial promises made a few days ago are bound to undergo the pressure test and relationships are put through their paces to see if they’ve got the glue to carry you forward into the future. Those worth their weight will breeze through, ruffled feathers aside.
